I first heard of the book good energy: the surprising connection between metabolism and limitless health by Casey means while listening to a podcast featuring the author sibling. Callie means a former consultant for the pharmaceutical and food industry. It was a fascinating interview, exposing the relationship between news outlets, advertising, and the pharmaceutical companies and I highly recommend a listen for decades I had suspected that the big TV network that run major news programs, health programs and popular talkshows such as Oprah, Dr. Oz and the view, except billions of dollars for advertising most of which is from major pharmaceutical manufacturers we’ve all seen the commercials during our favorite TV shows: we Govee Guardian, Monjo, Ren Voke, Ozempic, duplicity, result and trim. You may be humming the catchy jingles in your head right now means openly discusses how these ads primary aim is not to influence you the consumer… The real reason these companies spend billions and advertising on major TV networks is so that these networks news and talk shows will never say anything negative about these drugs. In fact, you might’ve seen several news programs and shows touting how great these drugs are without a balance look at the side effects and risks involved with taking them the shortlist of drugs that I mentioned earlier have two major things in common number one they are advertised to treat a conditioned caused by inflammation and number two they all must be taken for the rest of your life, they don’t actually cure or fix the problem (- they simply mask it. The patient is never given information on how to cure or prevent inflammation. In fact most people don’t even know what inflammation is. I didn’t until I started looking into my menopause symptoms let alone how to prevent it through lifestyle changes
Here’s where the book comes in…
Callie means the author of good energy is currently a functional medicine doctor. She earned her doctor of medicine degree from Stanford, but with Drew from her residency program when she realized the lack of training she received on nutrition and the underlying cause of disease in the book means chronicles her journey as a medical student, and she came to realize that healing the body is more complex than a pill prescription or surgery her booked out that all chronic conditions are caused by inflammation and inflammation can be healed in order to achieve overall wellness: “disease isn’t some random occurrence that might happen in the future. it is a result of the choices you make and how you feel today “ mentions the most common chronic conditions. Americans are diagnosed with such as depression, anxiety, infertility, insomnia, dementia, cancer, and many others chances are you suffer from at least one of these and you know many people who are battling one or more of the conditions listed in an age where technology pharmaceutical research and availability of medical doctors are in reach for most Americans. Why are we still sick and suffering
Suggest that we look at the body holistically and make choices that allow ourselves to create “good energy“ essentially if it isn’t building up our health, it’s degrading it. There is no neutral diet. I have colleagues who eat subway or Chick-fil-A every day for lunch because they believe those are the healthy choices for them. They’re not by the way I digress back to the book review…
Good energy is one of my favorite and most recommended book titles in the last few years means explains what’s happening in the medical world with an insiders point of view. She also gives suggestions for testing and measuring your bodies bio markers outlines lifestyle changes for optimal health and provides diet suggestions and recipes for every restriction or preference While I haven’t made these yet I look forward to her easy spinach, chickpea wraps and the easy low spike brownies swaps all sweetener for the sugar and I haven’t worked with that ingredient before so I’ll keep you posted on that.
Ultimately good energy is a good read in my book pun intended it gives practical advice on healing and that’s what we all need means philosophy goes right along with the one here at pain free over 50: look to heal the cause of your symptoms instead of masking them Dear reader, how do you read good energy or have another recommendation for us? We want to know!
Here’s to your good energy,
Jennifer Kaye
