Menopause is Hot: An Honest Book Review
One of the hottest books on the bestseller list right now is menopause this hot: everything you need to know to thrive by Mariella, frost and Alice smelly, frost trap a colonist and documentarian and smelly a journalist and menopause advocate, have teamed up to bring their topic of menopause and women’s health out of the shadows and into the spotlight let’s face it in the past menopause talk has been relegated to hushed advice frustrated complaints, or worse – silence I’ve noticed more mainstream books shows and columns, focused on the M word Coming out over the past few years, including frost BBC documentary the menopause, a 58 minute look into the science of menopause, the latest drug and HRT breakthroughs for treatment and how hormone changes in men affect their health too.
Forward by actress Naomi Watts expresses her enthusiasm for MHT or menopause hormone therapy I have heard of HRT hormone replacement therapy. This is the first time I have heard or read of MHT. It turns out this is just another medical term for the array of prescription drugs available to treat menopause symptoms.
The book begins with a history of menopause, hormone therapy or HRT Replacement therapy and explains that while in the past, there have been fears that taking hormones can increase the risk of cancer now the general believe is that MHT or HRT is the book mentions other ways to deal with symptoms such as nutrition, supplements, vitamins, avoiding sugar, and the like, but it doesn’t go into depth on any given subject concerning Menopause
I’m surprised that intermittent fasting is mentioned but the book address is it in two short paragraphs with the conclusion that it might help some women There aren’t enough studies on women and menopause to suggest that it works well will someone go ahead and do the study already? There are plenty of us who know it works through personal experience insured. The book is an easy read, but aside from the authors, conversational writing styles that, reassure the reader she is not alone in her suffering. There is nothing new or earth shattering here. One positive edition that I don’t see often is menopause discussion in menopause discussions is how relationships are affected by menopause. I think this is an important topic to address.
My take: menopause is hot is a fun read, but it isn’t giving new or unique solutions for menopause symptoms , I do apply the authors for wanting to empower women to talk about menopause more openly and to think about it as a natural process dear reader have you read this book? If so, what is your take the pain-free over 50 community? Would love to know, do you have any other book recommendations for us
