My friend Rachel just announced she had signed up to attend a "Carnivore Diet" seminar at our local grocery store. Since it's during the day, I can't join her (I'll be at work), but I told her to take some notes and let me know all about it. She told me she knew she needed to try the Carnivore Diet, as she had heard some amazing testimonials about people our age (yes, she is menopausal too) being healed of many common aches and pains. Rachel believes she is currently suffering from an autoimmune disorder, since she has battled a persistent rash all over her scalp, the side of her face, and even down one side of her chest. According to Rachel, the rash is not only unsightly, but terribly painful. This thing was so painful, she couldn't wash her hair or wear makeup for several weeks during a major flareup. If you have read any of my other blog posts, you know I suffer from many aches and pains-- I have arthritis and swollen knuckles on my right hand, and I would LOVE for that to disappear. So I told Rachel I would do this too. Oh no, what have I done? She said 90 days is a good length of time to really see if there is healing through the Carnivore Diet, so here we are-- doing this!

For many women, menopause can bring on unwanted weight gain and stubborn belly fat. As someone who has struggled with this myself, I decided to give the carnivore diet a try for 90 days to see if it could help me shed some of those extra pounds. The carnivore diet is a high-protein, low-carb eating plan that focuses on consuming only animal products like meat, fish, and eggs. I found that by eliminating processed foods, grains, and sugar from my diet, I was able to see significant weight loss and improvements in my overall health. While the carnivore diet isn't for everyone, it was a game-changer for me during menopause. If you're looking to lose weight and improve your health during this stage of life, it might be worth giving the carnivore diet a try.

These hand photos were taken on April 21, 2025-- the first day I started the Carnivore Diet. The left hand looks pretty normal...

But the right hand? Notice the swollen knuckle on the fourth finger

Let's see if I can heal this swollen knuckle! This article is the diary of our journey-- 90 days on the Carnivore Diet...

Beginning the Carnivore Diet: Day One

Today I ate four eggs (from Rachel's backyard chickens!) for breakfast with coffee. I still have some half and half left from the weekend, so I am trying to use that up. It's probably cheating. I don't know. No sweetener, though! I did add unflavored collagen to my coffee.

For lunch, I ate leftover chicken thighs from yesterday. Then for dinner I thawed some ground beef and made hamburger patties. No bun, no nothin'. Just salt. I can do this.

I watched a great video on YouTube of a couple who tried the Carnivore Diet for 90 days, and their transformation was inspiring. They both talked about how they noticed improvement in their sleep after a few days. That alone is convincing me to embrace this. They also recommended writing down all of the healing goals and expectations you have for yourself when you start and to journal what you eat and the changes you observe. This is a great idea.

I'll be posting my daily meals and what happened on the regular, so check back often!

To Your Healing,
